Some of our leadership retreats in Vietnam have come with Halal requirements. Treated as a design parameter from day one, the requirement shaped the menu rather than restricting it. Ask most event photographers for their shot list and you'll get a fairly predictable set: arrivals, group shots, candid smiles, the cake or the toast. All useful. None of it is actually the hardest photograph to get right. The photograph that matters most is usually the one of the room itself, empty or nearly so, in the ten minutes before anyone arrives, because that's the only image that shows what was actually built, rather than what was merely attended.
